what voltage reading should I be getting at the Batteries on Idle.
Also it does stall abruptly on Idle., Just had the carbys done.
Starte motor clicks couple of time or winds very slowly before engaging, would that be a starter relay.

regards Basil

Do a compression test as the absolute first step in trouble shooting the stalling problem !!----------------The clicking is a sign of a bad battery.----But he starter may have failed / burned out from excessive cranking.-------------Easy to take apart and check.

cheers, its a reco power head and running great, Just the stalling prob on Idle.
New Batteries also fitted.
cheers racerone

Sorry , I was not aware that your motor is reconditioned and has no mechanical problem.-----Volts should read higher than 12.4 which is battery voltage with motor stopped.------13.5 or so.

My fualy, didnt mention it, How do I check for correct Voltage or in out boards do you only test for amps?

Im trying to determine if the motor is charging correctly .

regards Basil
