90hp mercury Prop removal

90hp mercury Prop removal has a collar over nut not sure how to remove collar it spins freely by hand but need to get it off to get socket on nut

I forgot to add the collar has the plastic cap that covers the nut that pops off

It would help if you could post a picture,is it possible that its a prop lock.

Try this again I all ready took off the plastic cap on the end

yep,its a prop lock.I dont remember how to remove it for sure but I did have to cut one off once because the new owner of the boat didnt have the device to remove it.
