90 mariner

what year is my boat motor serial number is 6572857. have a hard time starting it but when it starts runs rea.lly good . it just takes a few min to start any help would be great

That is a 1984 Mercury/Mariner.

My first suspect on the hard starts would be the enrichment system (choke).

It is basically just a little solenoid valve that opens when you operate the choke and allows some gas to (kinda leak) down to the carbs.

A blocked hose or a toasted solenoid would be the first thing I would check out....
