hello i need to replace the sh

hello i need to replace the shift rod o-ring but i cant drive the brass bushing out of the houseing i have a tapered rod i use on smaller motors to drive the bushing out but it wont budge and im afraid im going to damage the houseing any sugestions thank you clay

The bushing is not to be remov

The bushing is not to be removed. Take a L-shaped small screw driver and fish out the o-ring.
