9.9 popping at idle

my 99 9.9 2 stroke ran good last time out. I ran it at home to tweak the mixture and idle speed. It started doing this before I touched it. Sounds like a backfire What's up?

Open low speed mixture needle 1/8th turn at a time.----Lean sneeze may go away.
