Greeting all-
I have a 1997 Mercury 15hp (2 Stroke) and my brother has a 1998 mercury 9.9hp (2 stroke)
THey both work great the first time we fire them up for the day- but once they are shut down and restarted they run for a few minutes and then die out from what sounds like fuel starvation. I can pump up the the pressure bulb on teh tank and get them to run again for another minute or 2- And then it dies again. After fudering and trying it several times i can get it to stay going but it still has issues at high speed.
Definetly something in the fuel system- trying to decide if Vapor lock, or perhaps an issue with the fuel pump or caborator-
We are both very careful to not leave gas in the motor over winter and use Sta Bil religiously.
Any thoughts
