9.9 4 stroke fuel pump ?

Have a customers boat with a 1996 9.9. Evinrude 4 stroke. Has cam acuated fuel pump # 0435352 NLA. Have done research on it . there are some retro fitting using a electric pump , using wire from oil pressure switch. Does anyone know what if any good fix is. Thanks
