First off, Hello. I am hoping there is someone here that can help me. I am having a cooling issue with my (I believe its a 04 or 05 I cant find any numbers on the motor) 8hp 4 stroke Johnson outboard. It pumps water just fine at fast idle or while running it at higher RPM's in general. It will not pump water at low idle/low RPM's causing it to overheat and shut off. I have already replaced the water pump with a new complete kit and same issue. Any ideas as to what could be the issue? Its never been in Saltwater (Freshwater lakes only). When I bought the motor used last year everything was fine. Going to be checking for clogged lines later tonight but as mentioned before it pumps water just fine at higher RPM's. Any help/ideas are greatly appreciated.
