89 mercury 175 no pwr with load

"Please help i have a mercury

"Please help i have a mercury 175 black max that is new to me. Engine runs great in early morning. after first pass after about 30 min. egine starts fine, idles fine, but will not plane out without throwing my fist mate on the deck. I have: rebuilt carbs, fuel pump, new plugs, wires. I have also ohm check the stator and trigger all seems well.
Engine does not miss at all even under load. it just is not gettin it.
wondering if high side of stator is going bad after engine heats up
any ideas would be greatly appreciated."

"Warm it up until you have the problem then put an inductive timing light on each spark plug wire and see if you have spark to all six. if the trigger is bad, you will not have spark to three cylinders, at least one of which is on each bank. If powerpack or stator is bad, you will not have spark on one bank of cylinders."
