"this engine had been sitting

"this engine had been sitting for a few years until I decided to fix the boat up. I hooked everything up and it fired right up. let it sit a couple days and it fired up again. today I went out and no fire, I disconnected the black/yellow wire and no change. Just wondering if someone can tell me what to check for the stator and what reading I should get. Thanks in advance for any advice."

"thank you for the response. no it didn't but i just went out and unpluged the main harness, jumped across the solenoid and it fired right up. pluged the harness back together and everything works perfect. I am guessing maybe a bad connection somewhere before but it is working now."
