I recently purchased (2) new coils, plugs and wires. Exchanged them and still have no spark... Also, while driving the boat when it ran, it would completely shut off after a little while and not start back up. When it would finally fire up, it would only run at low idle. Does the battery juice have anything to do with it?? Is there something you guys know I can try of right off hand?? The only partial fire I got was while I was holding the plug and fired off of my hand on the old set. Yeww!!! Please help, my son wants to fish!!!

Fuel filter clean as a whistle
New coils, plugs and wires

Thanks Ya'll!!!

Battery has nothing to do with it. But you need one connected to prevent rectifier damage. Disconnect the big cable plug and see if you have spark (jump the starter, or just use a rope on the flywheel). If you have spark with plug disconnected, trouble is somewhere between there and key switch, or switch itself.

That motor has the under flywheel ignition system. Everything is under there, except coils.
