Trying to remove the powerhead

Trying to remove the powerhead and it's stuck. I have the OMC repair manual and have followed it step by step. The front comes loose but the rear by the theromstat housing is stuck. Not sure what else to try without breaking anything. The lowergear case has already been removed and I can't see any bolts that might be holding it on. Help.......

"It's common for the two rear studs to be corroded tightly within the retaining holes that they pass thru. That becomes a job requiring patience, peretrating oil, whatever, prying upwards on the studs etc.

NOTE.... DO NOT attempt to insert anything between the powerhead and the adapter plate to pry in that area!

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay store at:

"I've found that a hand held propane torch, directing a hot flame at the aluminum surrounding those studs will help in freeing them. Just have a fire extingusher and a garden hose handy just in case.

Good idea to have the hose turned on (grin).
