"My friend had the same problem, with his tilt trim it wouldn't go either way. Is it a new motor or the stock. If new check the fluids make sure they are topped off. If old, may need to look at buying a new one. Bad news i know. Sorry"

Release manual release valve just enough to allow you to raise engine to its fully raised position, then lock it there. Tighten the manual release valve.

Fill reservoir to overflowing. Release the manual lock of the tilted engine. Power the tilt in both directions. Check and refill the reservoir as needed in the fully tilted up position. Hopefully this cures the problem.
