Electric start motor conversion
Hey guys, I have a 1989 Johnson outboard pull start 25hp on my 14’ Duroboat. I’m taking the electric start components off a 93’ Johnson, and ran into a problem, mostly everything should be pick and pull, except the cdi, or ignition coil is mounted externally on the 93’, which means there’s space for a battery charging stator on it. My 89’ has it mounted under the flywheel apparently. I was just wondering if there’s space under the flywheel to put the battery charging stator from the. 93’ onto the 89’, including the flywheel since it had the teeth also. What should I do?
