"Driveshaft sheared so I bough

"Driveshaft sheared so I bought a used lower unit and replaced the water pump/impeller - no water comes out the prop area - re-seated the LU 3 times making sure the water pump is aligned correctly - still not working. If I turn the drive shaft when the unit is off and connect the hose, water pumps out the top of the waterpump - could this be anything in the lower unit?

I searched the archives on this site and some threads refer to a gromet attaching to the water pipe inside the mid section - the pipe that the water pump fits over - I don't recall seeing a gromet when when I removed the lower unit but maybe it fell off - do I need to have that connection sealed tight? The way the pump fits over the pipe now is the plastic outlet from the pump just slides over the pipe.

"i have had motors that were like that, thats all that connected the pick up tube was a plastic tube.maybe try using a small nozel on your water hose and push water through the pick up tube.sounds more like something is plugged somewhere inbetween the pick up tube and pee hole.hope this helps"
