88hp spl Tune up 1990

does anyone have a good link on tuning up a 88hp spl, I have mine running good at slow speeds but lost top end I also went from easy to start to really hard to start. It used to run terrible at slow speeds but great at top end. I messed with the adjustment rod under the flywheel and the red lever on the choke module
