"I had a lot of trouble removing the power head from the outdrive the two studs located at the rear were almost like they were welded, had to pry under the motor and cut the bolts then pounded them out, however I damaged the surface a area a little check with a straight edge pretty flush, however I was thinking of using copper based silicone to help seal the gaskets. Will this work or any suggestions?

DONT use copper based silicon

DONT use copper based silicon it will corrode everything around it. Use an RTV silicone the sme type they use on rocker covers some cylinder heads and gearboxs.

"An old post which has probably been remedied by now BUT for reference.......

Use a epoxy called Marine-Tex which is formulated especially for marine use. It comes in two colors, Gray and White. I recommend the "Gray" Marine-Tex. It hardens like steel, can be drilled, tapped, filed, sanded, etc. I've used it for years..... it's never let me down.

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay store at:
