Hi, I happened to buy a superceded water pump kit 395059 and noticed it does not come with a rubber gasket that would sit between the lower unit and the chrome plate on the assembly. Is it ok just to install omc gasket compound directly on both sides of chrome plate or do I need a rubber gasket? The assembly I took off had a rubber gasket.
