88 mariner 50 hp water pump problem

I got an 88 50hp mariner that doesn't seem like it has alot of pressure from the water pump. I have water coming out when I idle it up. But I just put a new water pump in it last year. Has anyone ever had any problems with these motors chewing up water pumps often? I put new pump housing and all that just 6 month ago and only had the boat out 4 or 5 times I've check the tunes for obstructions .

Thermostat? Have you checked that? When was the last time it was replaced?
When my mine warms up the pee stream get's significantly stronger. I assume that is the thermo opening.

Well from what I can tell it doesn't have a thermastat from what i can tell from the parts diagram. Where would it be located on this motor if it has one? My motor serial number is OB308011
