So I just recently bought my first boat ,had a couple troubles with it but got it goin running now ! Now a diff problem exist. Just sun I took the boat out for the first time started up fine , put the boat in gear but now won't pass 2k rpms just shuts down stalls ! Just recently got the carbs rebuild and had some electrical wiring worked on ? Could this be a carb issue ? I did take video just waiting for it to upload lmk Whats u guys think

Start with a compression test and check that there is good spark on all 4 cylinders.-Good spark can jump a gap of 7/16" or more.

For now I have à marine mechanic doing the work ! When he first started he checked compression everything came out good ! It sat for a year .

I've read alot of info and most ppl point towards the carbs ? I called my mechanic and when I explained to him my situation he pointed towards something electrical ? Mechanic mentioned stator maybe ? Does that sound right ?

There are problems , need to check compression .-Need to check for spark on all cylinders.-Perhaps the flywheel key is sheared.--Are all wires hooked up correctly to plugs ?--Are orange / blue on both top coils ?---It sounds horrible to me!!

You can check the ohm values on the stator without removing the flywheel.--Simple trouble shooting is the path forward.

So just talked to mechanic everything checks out ok ? Ive been doin a lot of research some say a closed vent in the fuel tank will make me stall ? Where can I locate the vent? I did notice another fill hole top of the tank could that be it ?

does the bulb suck in trying to go flat?what kind of tank are you using?what kind of mechanic are you using if this is the fix?

Actually yes ! When trying to prime it goes flat on me ? The tank is plastic , and the mechanic does nothing but jetskis boat s dirtbikes ect ....

the bulb should go hard when you pump it...it will not stay hard when running but should not suck flat...gas is just flowing through it at that point...you may have a vent closed or a bad pickup filter..on some of the newer plastic tanks the vent does not work....they did some changes i guess for environmental reasons...i have one 6 gallon tank that i have to crack the cap or it wont work well...its a moeler tank...

I'm gonna mention that to mechanic. I didn't know about the vent until I did more research on stalling issues ! I'm just learning as I go ... I appreciate your help
