88 hp scpl weak spark

unplugged black/yellow kill wire, tested stator 2 wire plug has 8 volts when cranking to ground book says that you should have not have any voltage? then tested stator voltage was 105 should be a min of 150 ? bad stator?

Slow cranking results in low voltage there.----------Inspect battery / battery cables / starter motor.

Your tests indicate a bad stator. Got a model # ??

are you reading stator output peak voltage or just with a regular meter set on ac?..this stator will run you 250 bucks plus so you want to make sure...

I was testing ac voltage at cranking speed was 105 should be min of 150. But made 8 volts b/w stator and ground so that say short to ground ? Found new stator for 160 e88mslette is model
