I have a 1988 Chris Craft Stin

I have a 1988 Chris Craft Stinger 202 with OMC 4.3L 2 barrel carb. Last summer the engine shut off while operating at cruising speed. Appeared locked. I removed the out drive and the engine turned over. Ended up being a bearing in the drive due to low oil. I fixed the drive over the winter but now the motor will not turn over. When I checked it last summer I only cranked it about twice after I removed the outdrive. This spring I tried to crank the engine before I reinstalled the drive for good measure and it partially turned then stopped. Could the outdrive locking up have hurt the engine? The engine was winterized. Someone please help me trouble shoot. Not sure which path to follow. Thanks in advanced.

"When you cranked it last year

"When you cranked it last year did you pull the plugs? Sometimes when an engine suddenly stops it can injest some water. Pull the plugs, squirt some oil in and see if you can crank it by hand (put socket on crank)"

I did am going to try that now

I did am going to try that now. Is there a prefered oil or penetrating lubricant that I should try? Thanks Bob!!!

A lot of guys use stuff called

A lot of guys use stuff called Marvel Mystery Oil but short of that any oil is better than nothing.

"Bob, you are offically my hero!!! The oil worked great. I put some in yesterday and today the engine cranked freely. Thanks a million!
