Boat and motor passed down from Grandfather to me and it sat unused for a few years. Had carbs removed and cleaned, spark checked ok after replacing 1 coil pack. Starts fine, idles alittle rough when in gear when trying to go WOT it bogs down, dont know what rpm no tach, pumped primer and didnt change it, used a different fuel tank still same, thinking it may be fuel pump as it sat for quite sometime. Any ideas?

That is a pretty good motor in my opinion. I would start with compression check, then check to make sure spark is jumping 7/16" gap. Check all your electrical connections and wires for corrosion or deterioration. Check your fuel line and connections for any sort of leak. If that doesn't fix it take the fuel pump apart and look for cracks or clogs. If it has been sitting for a while you may have bugs or old fuel build up in the fuel lines, fuel pump or carb. Check the fuel system for cleanliness and good connection from the tank to the carbs.

Thank You, had the engine checked and compression and spark was good, they said they checked that first due to if it wasnt good they didnt want to continue until that was fixed. I am going to look at the fuel pump and lines. Thanks for your help.

Took the fuel pump apart and there was a cracked gasket and one of the check valves was folded into the hole. Going to get a gasket rebuild kit along with a new fuel filter.
