I have a 1987 johnson 90hp tha

I have a 1987 johnson 90hp that has been sitting for over 5 years and am looking for advice on what should be done to put it back into service. The only thing done to the motor prior to this idle time was a thorough cleaning of the carbs. I know it will need a new water pump.

If there was no fuel left in t

If there was no fuel left in the carbs then they should be good to go. If you can rinse the gas tank out then do so and change all the rubber hoses from the tank all the way to the carbs and replace the fuel pump and water pump also change lower unit oil grease the prop shaft.
