87 johnson 28 hp spl. Timing?

I am new to the boat owners world. I am fairly knowledgeable about engines and just want some basic info on the johnson. Is there a way to set the timing? How about an idle mixture adjustment? I have messed with the knob on the front and assume it is idle mixture. Is there a fuel filter and if so where is it located? I need to just buy a manual. Sorry. But any help would help. Thanks!!
 
Timing is fixed at the factory and normally needs no adjustments.---------------------Are there any issues with the running of the motor ???
 
My uncle has the same motor on a bigger boat. It outperforms my motor significantly! I tested compression and it was really good actually! Thanks for the help with the timing. I didn't think it needed adjustment but wanted to be sure. I went through the carb and cleaned everything and found out one of the prop fins was bent. I reshaped it as best I could to the rest. How much does it being bent hurt performance?
