Just bought a newer remote con

Just bought a newer remote control for my 87 Evinrude 40 HP (BRP 5006180). Does anyone know if the wire color code on the new remote will match wires from my older engine?

Kits should be available from every BRP dealer.
The 'old' remotes with red multi contacts came with cable and contact all the way to engine. The
new' ones with Deutz contacts has no cable from remote.
Further more the 'old' ones had the warning horn inside the remote, on the new which are ready for System Check use a separate alarm horn, but it normally comes with the remote.
Personally if I still had the old remote with electric cable, I would simply 'splice' the old cable into the new remote! Color codes are the same.
Check first and see what You have and what You get."
