I have an 86 merc 35hp on my bass tracker and I got it out of storage about 2 weeks ago, put a new water pump kit in it and too it out on the water. It ran for a little while (30min) and then stopped. When I got it home I checked for fire, fuel, and compression. has 120lbs compression, seem to be getting fuel (plugs wet) but had no spark. I done some testing and found the ignition switch bad. replaced that and now I have spark, although it wont jump a 7/16" gap on my tester, it fires really well at the plug. any help is greatly appreciated.
