Hi,
I took the first ride of the season this weekend, after having the boat two years on shore.
Filled her up with fresh fuel with 1:50 oil mixture and went for a test ride.
At idle everything seemed normal, and up to 50% throttle it was working good.
As soon as i went over 50% throttle it started bogging, like it was starving for more fuel. I tried pressing the choke, and as i expected it revved up and ran like normal even at 100% with the choke engaged.
I cleaned the carbs, and it made no difference. Switched the fuel pump with another used one from a 35 johnson. Still no change. Replace all fuel lines, and even the fuel tank. Still the same.
Then I dissassembled the carbs and cleaned them in a part cleaner at work, and used compressed air to blow them dry.
After all this it works fine at idle, and it also runs good at 100% throttle.
It only bogs at about 40-70% throttle.
When i parked it two years ago everything was working flawlessly. Its the 60 hp with the electric primer pump.
What could be the problem? Is the "new" used fuel pump acting up? Anything else to check?
ideas?
Thanks,
- Lars
