choke seems fine, plenty of throttleSo it runs fine once you get it started? I don't think cleaning the carburetors is the solution. First check the choke. Is it slamming shut tight? Second, check the warm-up throttle setting. Maybe you aren't giving it enough throttle. Um......1973, eh? Is there any goo running down from under the flywheel (like melted charge coils)? 1973 motors had that problem.
