Have Merc I/O 84, 4 banger, ford engine; cranks but will not start. First put new batt. leads on for a better connection; then fixed up the points; adjusted to the half way point of 21 or 22 deg; also ohmed points after we cleaned them up, zero ohms so good; then checked spark out of coil; at least 3/8 of inch long; then checked spark at each plug wire, same great spark. checked compression 150psi per cylinder if not better. Now I know no. 1 cylinder is in front of engine but what about the rest or are they just all in order; 1, 2, 3, 4 and yes the firing order we have printed right out on the valve cover; I believe its 1432 or 1342 at any rate not starting; yes we checked the dist. for proper alignment. Any ideas????

Dribble some fuel into the throat of the carb and see if it will fire. If it does the carb is not delivering fuel or it is not getting fuel from the pump.
