A while ago checked spark, was ok
checked compression all well at 120
changed oil seal on crankcase

ran boat and still had issues of not reaching full wot
when I took a hard left turn something sounded kicked in
it started hitting full rpm and was actually going past 5500

then started surging

old man at boat ramp saw wiring harness and said it needed to be replaced

ideas on wiring harness symptoms?

Or if any ideas as to why when I took a hard left turn it seemed to kick in, as if the fourth cylinder started working at that point? Just starting to get lost on stuff. Some of the cables do look like they need replacing but…
 
Water in the gas! Seriously. The water in the bottom of the carb bowls is forced to the right on a left turn, away from the jets, which get pure gas for a few seconds.

Install a water separator and that problem will go away.

Thanks for reply, that seems like something I should get anyways
now I’ve tried doing research but can’t figure out which one to get
are they all the same as long as 10microns? Any specific one good for this motor?
