84 Johnson Seahorse 35 Hp

I have a 35 hp johnson seahorse that recently started to act up. I am able to throttle up when in neutral but when I put it in gear it seems to bog and noticed I am getting some water sputtering from the exhaust. Any information to help would be appreciated.

Water from exhaust is normal.--------They all rev in nuetral and will do that on one cylinder.---It sure sounds like it might be running on one cylinder.-----So do a compression test.----Then see if you have strong spark on both leads.
