I JUST PURCHASED AN 84 EVINRUDE THAT WAS SITTING FOR 2 YEARS. NEW BATTERY / GETTING GAS BUT NO SPARK

"Time to troubleshoot the ignition system. A manual and a continuity tester would help greatly at this point.

It could be as simple as corroded connections or plug wires from sitting or as serious as a bad stator, powerpack or coils.

If you are planning on doing the work yourself, I can provide you with the specs for the various tests you will need to do...."
