83 well craft over heating

have a 83 well craft elite 5.7. Recently had the bellows changed. Now the boat is getting hot. I have replaced the impeller, thermostat, and water pump. It only gets hot when running over 3500 rpms. Have checked all the hoses water is circulating. The boat will run at 3500 rpms and stay at approximately 160 degrees when you increase the throttle it begins to get hot, reduce back to 3500 it cools back down. Any suggestions thanks in advance.

Something must be blocking the flow of water--that's what causes the temperature to rise.

It may not have been the best way to check this however I took the distributor wore off so the boat wouldn’t start. I took each hose off individually and put the boat in water and ensured all the hoses had water coming through them. Is there better way to check for an obstruction?

what about the elbows, overheating is either water in or water out

The old one was still all there, wasn’t missing any pieces.
