82 Johnson 60hp water flow

Thanks to everyone's help on my last post, I've got the motor running good! I found a barrel to fill with water and drop the motor in. I've got it covering the water inlet, but not quite to where the lower unit housing meets the mid section. Water is flowing good through the nipple hole and the block is warm but not too hot to touch....but I'm noticing water flowing out between where the lower unit housing and mid section meet. There is also a little water dripping from the bottom of the power head housing. I was wondering if this was normal for these motors.... 1982 Johnson 60. I want to play it safe, though I'm dying to get to some fishing. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Water must be 6" above the pump.---------Covering inlet screen is not good enuff.

So I fired it up after i upped the water level. I can't tell if there's water coming out between lower unit and mid now, but still some dripping from below power head housing. Is this normal?

Look for leakage on the engine or the gasket between engine and exhaust housing.

So it isn't normal for water to come out of those areas for this motor? I've read a few posts that say water flows differently for each of these older 70s and 80s motors. Was curious if anyone with the same or similar motor had the same issue
