"I have 25 hp Johnson that starts fine, runs for a while, and then when warmed up it dies and will not start again untill fully cooled. The fuel ball is firm. I have rebuilt the carb and fuel pump.
Someone suggested that electical due to age may be the culprit.
ANY ideas are welcome.
thanks"

"I assume that the engine had not actually overheated and seized, that you can still turn the engine over?

The fuel primer bulb should not still be hard. Usually that bulb is laying in a horizontial position and it is normal for the fuel to drop down to the halfway point. It would only stay full if it were in a vertical position with the outlet facing straight up.

If pumping that bulb makes no difference and the engine still dies out, either the engine is flooding which should be obvious (fuel) or the ignition is failing.

If ignition (no spark), I would suspect the driver coil under the flywheel (beginning of ignition system). If this coil overheats and starts to melt down, you may have ignition when the engine is cold BUT when hot, ignition would be weak, erratic, and eventually non existent.

Thousands of parts in my remaining stock. Not able to list them all. Let me know what you need and I'll look it up for you. Visit my eBay store at:
