Motor dies when put in forward gear at slow or fast idle changed idle jet setting to more or less fuel same thing ?

Check to see if it is running on both cylinders.-----------------They will run on one !--------Check compression and check for STRONG spark.

Has a very strong spark was not running on bottom cyl put a different plug made some difference, great compression 120+ could run better may be it could it be timing? thanks

Timing on outboards generally is " bang on " unless tampered with.---------------------Maybe the bottom reeds have a problem ??----------Maybe the lower crankshaft seal is defective.--------Is the boost venturi in place ??
