Hi I am looking for some help with this boat and motor I bought? I lift the idle lever and start the boat. I let it warm up some then I put the idle down the motor will stall out. If I put idle down and shift it into gear fast enough I can keep the boat running and once I get it opened up the boat runs like a dream!!!! Once its in neutral boom it stalls. I have noticed a nipple under the bottom carb! While the boat is running about every 3 seconds it sprays out a little shot of gas. I am not sure if there is suppose to be a hose on this nipple that connects somewhere else on the motor or can I plug it??

There is a nipple on the bottom port (left) side of the carburetor face plate where a hose should lead to a nipple at the bottom main bearing area. Is that what you're speaking of?

What are the compression readings of the four individual cylinders?

With the spark plugs removed, does the spark jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame... a real SNAP!? Note that testing the spark by using the spark plugs is a waste of time.

You can use a medium size philips screwdriver (#2 I believe) inserted into the spark plug boot spring connector, then hold the screwdriver shank approximately 7/16" away from the block to check the spark.

Awesome ty for the responce so fast. I am not a mechanic at all. I have no clue what the compression is in any cylinder. I know there is spark on all plugs but not sure if they are strong enough. That hose I was talking about is connected under they left side of carburator but I have no clue where the other end go. Sounds like the same one your speaking of. Thanks again for your info very much appreciated 8)
