81 Johnson 2hp no start

90 pounds compression
cleaned carb
check points gap at .020
great spark at the plug - dances all over the plug!
will not fire off even with start fluid
no hair left to pull out!
any ideas?

Does spark jump a gap of 1/4" , yes or no ?-----If you put 6 drops of fuel into the plug hole does motor bark / roar for a second , yes or no.-----My gues it that you have weak spark.-----Or bring it over as I can diagnose it very quickly.

ill try putting fuel in the cylinder
where are you located?

ok put fuel in cylinder and it "popped" one time but that was it
so need new coil?
points and condenser too?
