I have a 8 hp Mercury How do you get the fuel filter off.

With the filter that has a black cap and the the white (bowl) underneath?

If so, it's a kinda twist and lock system. Grab hold of both parts and twist the bowl part counter clockwise - you will feel it (disengage) and then simply remove it. Don't be afraid to use a bit of force on it."
