8 HP Mercury Outboard

I have an 8 HP Mercury that will start up for me and allow me to run up the river. As soon as we fish for a while it won't start for anything. Once I am able to get it started again, it will run like a charm. Once again, once I stop for a while I can't get it started. Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks.
 
sounds like the carb/float is sticking and flooding the engine. Look down the carb and pump the fuel bulb, if gas is drippin then the carb needs rebuilt. You should check for spark next time it wont start to make sure its not electrical. JB
