"I have an engine with less than 15 hours on it that is driving me nuts. It's latest trick is to start and idle normally, run for about 15 minutes in gear and than quit. Once it quits it will not restart unless you wait a few hours and than it will repeat the sequence. The fuel is good and flow is fine to the carb. The tank vent is open. The cooling water flow looks OK. I have had the carb rebuilt so I don't feel that it is the problem. Perhaps something fails when it heats up? Anyone got any good ideas?"

I would suspect the choke. I have read about the choke working on a heat shield or something to that effect. I know my T9.9 is really cold blooded on first start up for the day.

"My brand new 8yami 4cyc had the same type issue. Never worked. Took a year to figure it out. A yami master mech helped me thru it. turns out the carb isolator, found between the carb and the intake manifold was installed backwards. The little aligning tabs kept the carb from sealing correctly and I had an air leak. Flipped the isolator and engine ran all last season trouble free."
