79' 70HP Power Trim help

Hi all,

I have an old 79' 70hp 2 stroke and the power trim is buggered. I am wondering if I can replace the old remote pump assembly with a more modern all in one from a newer Merc?

Correction**

Not the pump assembly. The entire trim assembly.

For instance, can I take like a 90's/ 00's trim assembly and swap it out?

No they won't fit in your motor. Look for CMC unit or I believe panther might make one.
