Low idle: If the engine ran properly in the past and this problem has just surfaced, check the following first.

Compression: Should be in the range of 100+ and even on all cylinders. What are your readings?

Spark: With the spark plugs removed.... The spark should jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame... a real SNAP! Does it? NOTE: The 7/16" gap is important, checking spark using the spark plugs is a waste of time.

If the two above areas are as they should be, the usual cause is fouled carburetors, in which case, clean and rebuild them.
