"Pulled the water pump yesterday because of no water from the tel tale. Pump impellar looks fine but i didnt find a seal beween the engine water tube and pump outlet, and the outlet of the pump body is missing a large piece of the outlet. It looks like the edges of the missing area of the pump outlet are smooth like its supposed to like that. Anybody have a comment about this Please..."

"for some reason I cant upload any photos. Locks my machine up.???

The open part where the engine cooling tube goes looks like it is factory made this way. Ok so be it, but shouldnt there be a rubber seal between the tube and the pump? If the pump wasnt lined up with the tube on the last pump replacement could it have pushed the tube up into the motor???"

"just realised the cut out on the pump outlet is to allow acess the mounting bolt, But I still need to know how the engine tube seals to the pump outlet. Help me out here please."

"to those who responded, Thank

"to those who responded, Thanks for the help. Your input helped me to find the real problem with my 77 50hp merc. Just a clogged tell tale tube. It took a hundred lbs of air pressure to blow it out but, out it came. Plugged with sand. Needed to come apart anyway. Thanks again for all your help"
