"just started this mtr for the first since time Ive had it. Runs rough, but right now my concern is water comming out between the prop and gear case, (back of prop) along with through the prop. Could this just be a problem with prop sealing or something worse. I was told this engine needed a new impeller but I dont see any indication of that yet. Ran about 3 mins and never did feel even warm at the head"

The exhaust is discharged through the prop along with most of the cooling water.

"the water between the prop and gear case is what Im wondering about. I dont guess it really matters though. I mean, its not overheating. Is there a rubber seal behind the prop?"

"one other thing, I havn't got a manual for this engine yet. There is a small rubber grommet lookin thing on the rt side lower part of the bottom engine case. Is that a cooling water tell tale????and if it is ,water should be flowing from it at all times???"
 
"yes water should come out the

"yes water should come out the tell tale. Yes water should come out from around the prop, yes the seal at the prop keeps the oil in the case and the water out.

There may be a spiders nest/mud dobber in the tell tall, weed eater string and a garden hose on it should work"

"did the weed string trick but no luck. String went in about 20 inches. Cant blow through the tell tale, should I be able to?
Ive been running the engine briefly off and on and have warm water flow out the exhaust but none out the tell tale. Can I assume just the water pressure from the muffs are cooling the engine and the water pump needs replaced?"
