35rl77h is my model number.
I have looked on the parts manuals and for the life of me cannot find a thermostat spring.
I bought this motor a few weeks ago and it was run previously with no thermostat.
I bought the correct thermostat and gasket but they look like they need the spring to stay in properly, I could be wrong so I thought I would ask and see if anyone knows. Do I not need a spring, will it just stay in and open properly without one?
And if I do need one, which one should I order (if you don't know no worries, Ill find something somewhere that will work)

Thanks!

??----No spring shown in the parts book !!-----Therefor no spring needed.-----Make sure rubber seal is installed properly and it will work fine.

On the other hand, a 1978 does use a spring. Just to be sure, examine yours to see if the water cover holds the thermostat down.

I checked last night, it does hold it in with the new rubber seal, but dang just barely. No wonder they switched in 1978!
Thanks a bunch.
