"I have the above engine and it seems to be missing the outside cover over the carbs, I believe they call it an air silencer, anyways is there somewhere that I can order one, or does anyone have one they would part with. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mac"

I would pay a visit to your local mom-and-pop dealership. This part was common for all 4 cyl models of that vintage. They should certainly have one laying in the boneyard they would be willing to part with very reasonablly.

You can't visit one of those new fancy dealerships. If they were even in business in '77, and knew what you were describing to them, they still couldn't help you. They throw that kind of stuff in the dumpster.

I am told that the source of last resort for obsolete OMC parts is SeaWay Marine. (800) 332-0803. Always works for me.
