"Hello,

I have an old seahorse 20 which misfires (and sometimes dies) until it has warmed up, after about 10 mins, then it runs well. It used to run smoother when cold until I took the crankcase apart and re-sealed it. So the obvious answer is the crankcase bolts are a bit loose, but if it were this I don't understand why it ran so well before because the crankcase was leaking from both sides. Has anyone got any ideas because it's driving me nuts!"

"Hello jwb, if it's an air

"Hello jwb, if it's an air leak it must be sealing when it gets warm so would you say crankcase, leaf plate or intake manifold. I'm assuming intake and not exhaust, no visible leaks I have to say, but the carb to intake manifold gasket is a bit naff.

Edit: Just to clarify, when I say misfires, it's almost a backfire."
