My In-Laws bought a 24' pontoon that had a 15hp outboard motor onit. Before they had it put in the water they wanted to put a bigger outboard motor onto it. I am not a boat mechanic by any means but mechanically inclined and know when to have to ask questions when I can't figure it out. The problem I am having is that after having installed the new motor there is no possible way for the exisiting steering cable to fit this new/older motor. I pulled the steering cable n dismounted the helm. So I am starting from scratch trying to install a whole new helm n steering cable. Anyone that can help me find the correct cable that will connect to this engine. I know that what I have written may not make complete sense to those of you who are TRUE boat mechanics so if I need to include some info to make more sense then please let me know.
